A high quality mens winter shirt is something I never knew I needed in my life but thanks to the lovely folk at McNair Shirts who sent me one of their merino mountain shirts to try out our family snowboarding trip to Whistler during Easter holidays, I . The weather was unusually warm in Whistler town for the time of year and the shirt didn’t get worn…people were literally snowboarding in their shorts and t-shirts. However you can always trust the English weather to deliver cold weather when everywhere else is warm! so I did get chance to wear the shirt when we got back to Cornwall and here’s my review of why I love this shirt…
Immediately I knew this shirt wasn’t you everyday winter shirt. It was delivered in what could be the nicest box I’ve ever had delivered, maybe second place to the iMac box. Inside the box the hand wrapping inside was beautifully done.
One thing I noticed straight away was how well made the shirt is and the sheer quality of the merino lambwool and what beautiful craftsmanship. The shirt feels incredibly strong and the buttons feel like they’ll last forever – in fact, McNair state why their buttons will never fall off on their website here
Check out the personalisation inside the shirt saying it was made by Josie…lovely touch! I’ve 5ft 11 and 11 stone and the shirt was the perfect fitting. I have a men’s heavy weight merino mountain shirt in black (size medium)
The best way to find out about McNair shirts is to let the experts tell you about themselves, so check out this video…
Not quite the mountains…but a Sunday morning at Watergate Bay on the North coast of Cornwall I wore this McNair shirt properly outside for the first time – strong cold wind were blowing in off the coast and I was mighty glad I had this shirt on. It kept me warm but not too warm unlike many winter jackets and shirts I’ve tried over the years.
Seriously, this shirt from McNair is so well made, it fits beautifully and very comfortable to wear…it’s easily the best piece of clothing I’ve ever owned and perfect with just one layer underneath. I’m pretty confident I’ll be wearing this shirt for many more years to come.
Although I received this shirt to review, my thoughts and experiences are entirely my own and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend McNair shirts for anyone looking for a mountain shirt. In fact, I love the shirt so much I want to get the another in the artic silver colour.
